We do! Did you know that most of our elders believe we care more about their valuables than we do about their values? It’s true. A few years ago, The Allianz Insurance Company sponsored a study and the results indicated that our parents and grandparents think we want their money more than we want their time, their stories, their beliefs and values. We know that is not true.
The Who Cares about the Heirlooms? package is designed to
a) help a Storyteller use their treasured heirlooms and their ordinary possessions as memory triggers to preserve and share 6 or 12 important life stories.
b) help the Storyteller consider the importance of their ordinary possessions — items they might not regard as heirlooms.
c) help the Storyteller’s family understand the Storyteller’s wishes — for example, who does the Storyteller want to care for his or her items and why.
The Client and Storyteller select 6 or 12 heirlooms and provide a photograph of each heirloom. Your professional Personal Historian records the Storyteller sharing his/her story. If the Storyteller chooses to, your professional Personal Historian will also record to whom the Storyteller bequeaths the item and why.
